A one-on-one comparison is made in verification, and of course is connected with another piece of information such as a telephone number or a citizenship number.
In identification, however, nothing is claimed; you are like an airport police officer comparing passengers’ passport pictures with pictures of wanted people. If you see someone who looks someone in one of your photos or you match the picture on a passport with one of the wanted people with facial recognition software, you become alert and take the appropriate action. Identification takes care of similar tasks in your operation because fraudsters will not be able to deceive you.
