The language model is used for dictation. If the list of things that a caller might say is broad, language model is used. In case the list of things that a caller might say is limited, then, the grammar model is used.

For example; on your application, you can make speech recognition with a simple numbers grammar if you ask the caller to ‘’say a number.’’ However, if the application asks an open-ended question as follows: ‘’You can make the operation you would like by talking to me. How may I help you?’’ we must use the language model here.
